"Angie has been a great blessing to my family and me throughout the past several years. Before I explain as to why, I will tell you about my situation. I was injured in a paragliding accident June 6, 2008. The tethers to the parachute I was attached to failed and I subsequently fell about 20 feet to the ground. I landed on my rear end, which caused my vertebrae to absorb all the pressure exploding my L1 vertebra. Since there was no longer any support the vertebra above and below L1 came together and pinched my spinal cord leaving me paralyzed from the waist down. I am an incomplete L1 paraplegic. I basically have limited movement from my knee to my waist.

After my injury Angie offered to come to my house and give me massage therapy twice a week for about a year. She did this all free of charge and for that I am eternally grateful to her. After my injury my muscles in my legs were extremely tense and I had terrible nerve pain in my right leg. For about six months post injury the nerve pain in my leg would be about an 8 out of 10 pain wise. I took Lyrica for this pain but that would only take the edge off. I was still in agony from the pain that the medicine did not relieve. Some nights it became so painful that I would take Oxycodone, not because this medicine helped with this particular type of pain but because it would be the only thing that would allow me to sleep through the night. Both my parents would tell you that I am the type of person who has a high tolerance to pain and rarely complains. They would also inform you that I do not take any type of medicine unless I absolutely need it. This information shows you how much pain I was going through at the time.

Angie performed two types of massage therapy on me. The first was the traditional type of therapy where she would massage my muscles over about an hour time period; the second type was called Craniosacral therapy. This was the first time I had ever been introduced to this type of therapy. From what I understand this type of therapy deals with the electromagnetic fields in the body, similar to acupuncture. The first time it was performed on me I was amazed at the results. The way this therapy is performed is that the masseuse puts their hands above particular points on the body and holds them in that position for a couple of minutes. There is no physical contact between the masseuse and the patient with this type of therapy. I was skeptical at first but while having it performed on me I could feel a tingling throughout my body. After every time having these therapies my nerve pain was significantly reduced. Before the therapy it may have been at an 8 out of 10 and after therapy it was about a 3 out of 10. After dealing with such a high level of pain this was more than a manageable level of pain for me. The whole point of me telling you all this is that the therapies Angie performed were the only thing to quench my nerve pain.

In conclusion, I want to say that Angie is a person of the upmost character and integrity. It is still had for me to explain how much she has done for me post injury. Not only for her offering her services free of charge and coming to my house for a year, but also for her incredible knowledge of massage and the body. I would always ask her to explain what she is feeling and what I could do better. She would always explain it extremely thoroughly and in a manner that anyone would be able to understand. Angie has a way with the body and communication with people that very few possess. She is also one of the most caring and compassionate people that I have ever met. Who else do you know that would offer up a year of massage therapy, twice a week, free of charge and come to your personal residence? Truthfully I do not know anyone who would, besides her.
